Father’s Day is a big deal in the BBQ community. G-Que BBQ wanted to create an interactive giveaway that would grow their email database while rewarding one lucky fan with a BBQ gift card as well as tickets to see a Rockies game. With a fan base as passionate about sports as they were about BBQ, this giveaway was the perfect way to get our customer based involved!
In order to reach G-Que fans across the age spectrum, I made sure to make both digital & printed assets & to use easily-readable text. I created assets for flyers, napkin holder inserts, Facebook headers, social media posts, Instagram/Facebook stories, & a website landing page.
In terms of design, my goal was to convey as much information as possible in eye-popping imagery that could be digested quickly, since most people would be seeing these advertisements in passing. I also wanted to reinforce G-Que’s branding by utilizing brand colors, fonts, & their classic style of bold, simple, mid-century themes in a modern package.
As for the giveaway, G-Que collected a total of 2,070 emails from entries & received over 12,700 impressions: the most impressions, actions, & users or any giveaway hosted by the business! Not only was the giveaway a success, but the online store sale yielded over $3,000 in net sales. In addition to this, advertising the giveaway & sale had a ricochet effect, helping to bolster a record day of $43,000 in in-store net sales between G-Que’s 2 brick & mortar locations, with over $8,400 being generated by food pre-orders.
